If you love Rice Krispie Treats like we do, then you probably make them all the time!
We love them. They are our kryptonite. As soon as they are cool enough to eat, we start munching and usually finish them off before the night is over!
These pumpkins were the PERFECT excuse to whip up a batch! Yummy gooey marshmallow treats with a cute Tootsie Roll on top for a stem!
These are a perfect for after school snacks, your next party or even just for edible decorations! Use up your leftover Halloween candy and make a batch of these tasty treats!
Rice Krispie Pumpkins
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup butter
- 4 cups mini marshmallows
- 5 cups Rice Krispie cereal
- Tootsie Roll Midgies
- Orange Food Coloring (or Red and Yellow)
Instructions
Melt butter slowly in large sauce pan over low heat.
Add marshmallows and stir until melted and combined.
Remove marshmallow mixture from heat and add food coloring until desired orange color.
Add cereal. Stir until well coated. If sauce pan is not big enough, put rice cereal into a large bowl and pour marshmallows mixture over rice cereal in bowl.
Allow cereal to cool for a few minutes.
Once cool enough to touch, spray your hands with cooking spray and form round balls.
Place these on wax paper.
Heat tootsie rolls for 3 seconds in the microwave. Mold tootsie roll into stem and attach to rice krispy treats!
