  • Mini marshmallows: The sweet, sticky binder that holds the treats together.
  • Rice Krispie cereal: Gives the treats their classic texture.
  • Tootsie Roll Midgies: These are used to create the cute little stems on top of each pumpkin.

Can Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats Be Made Ahead of Time?

Absolutely these crunchy treats can be made ahead of time!

You can prepare them up to two days in advance.

Just keep them in an airtight container until it’s time to serve.

They’ll stay fresh and delicious!

How to Store Leftover Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats?

If you find yourself with leftover rice krispie treat pumpkins, storing them is easy!

Just place them in an airtight container and keep them at room temperature.

They’ll maintain their best quality for up to a week.

Just make sure each layer of treats is separated by parchment paper if you stack them.

You don’t want them sticking together!

You could also pop them in the fridge to help them last longer.

But you’d probably want to leave them on the counter before serving.

Can You Freeze Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats?

You can freeze these classic treats if you need to.

Wrap them individually in plastic wrap and store them in a freezer-safe bag.

When ready to enjoy, let them thaw at room temperature for a few hours.

They’re perfect for pulling out for last-minute guests or a sudden treat craving!

I don’t think they’ll change texture at all, though they may be a little softer than they were before.

If you end up freezing them, let me know how they turn out!

Besides the traditional Tootsie Roll Midgies, you’ve got lots of options!

You can use pretzel sticks for a salty crunch.

Green licorice ropes are a fun color contrast.

Rolo candies for a chocolatey twist.

Even Mike and Ikes! Lots of color options there!

And now that I’m thinking about it, candy corn would be great too!
