Vampire’s Kiss Mocktail

If you need a Halloween themed drink, look no further than this Vampire’s Kiss Mocktail! A kid friendly non alcoholic drink that will make your party an instant hit!

Halloween is such a fun time to play with your food!  Between drinks, snacks and meals, you can really let your imagination go wild.  My kids are still little, so we don’t usually host big Halloween parties at my house.

However it doesn’t mean we don’t like to do a a few fun treats every year to celebrate!  Plus when the time comes for the big friend parties, we’ll be ready with a list of spooky Halloween drinks and food!

This Vampire Kiss Mocktail was an especially loved drink by my kids!  My son loved it so much he wanted to include this drink as a part of his Birthday dinner! Despite his birthday not being in October, we all agreed because like him, we’re fans of it too!

There are only 3 ingredients in this easy mocktail and so it’s not difficult to whip up on a moments notice!

This Halloween drink recipe is the kind of beverage you really get to play with before sipping!  Which makes them a hit with kids and adults of all ages!

Whether you’re hosting a spooky Halloween party or just creating a creepy dinner before Trick or Treating, I recommend trying this Vampire’s Kiss Mocktail!  You really can’t mess it up, it’s so easy!

What is a Mocktail?

If you’ve ever wondered what is the difference of cocktails and mocktails I’m here to help clarify this for you!

A mocktail is simply a virgin cocktail.  In other words, a mocktail does not contain alcohol.  They are kid friendly and can be made with fruit juice, carbonated beverages, fresh fruits, or other flavorings.

For example, let’s look at a Mimosa.  A Mimosa is simply just champagne and orange juice.  However if you would like to make a Mocktail Mimosa for a baby shower or your friends who do not drink, you could try this recipe for my Mock Mimosa!  Similar flavor but without the alcohol!

How to Make a Mocktail?

How you make your mocktail will depend on the ingredients in it and how you want to present it.

For this Vampire Kiss Mocktail, you’ll only need 3 ingredients:

  • Fruit Juice Concentrate
  • Gingerale
  • Ice Cubes

Because this is a Halloween drink, You’ll want to do the following:

  1. Fill a non surgical syringe with your juice concentrate.
  2. Fill your glass or beaker with ice cubes and ginger ale.
  3. Serve.  When ready to enjoy, squirt syringe of concentrate into cup and mix with syringe.
  4. Sip and enjoy!

Can You Drink Dry Ice in a Mocktail?

This is great question for anyone who is not used to using dry ice!  Dry ice can be very intimidating to use your first time.  It provides a smoky effect to your drink that can last for several minutes.

Generally speaking you can use dry ice in your drinks. HOWEVER, I don’t recommend it because whole dry ice should not be consumed.  If you include it in your drink, a guest may not realize and chew on or swallow it.  Dry ice is VERY cold and can cause quite a bit of damage to any skin it touches – including your mouth and throat.  So it’s best to not include it directly to your punch or cups.

If you’re wanting to the smokey spooky look of dry ice then try one of these alternative options:

  1.  If you’re doing a large punch bowl, then have two punch bowls.  A smaller one full of punch that you place inside a larger empty bowl.  Using tongs place dry ice all around the larger bowl – outside of the punch bowl.  I recommend using plastic bowls for this as the dry ice may crack your glass bowls.  Then when ready to activate your dry ice, pour warm water all around your dry ice.  This will cause it to activate and smoke.  At first the smoke will surround the outside of your bowl, however after a minute or so it will settle around your punch too – giving it the look of dry ice in your punch without actually having it there.
  2. If you’re doing individual drinks, you can get a large tray and place your drinks on the tray.  Make sure the tray has edges.  Then place a few nuggets of dry ice on the tray around your drinks.  When ready to activate your dry ice, pour a little warm water over them and soon you’ll have spooky looking individual drinks.

What is a Mocktail Party?

I suspect you’ve heard of a cocktail party.  Everyone comes dressed up, you serve a variety of alcoholic cocktails with appetizers and have entertainment.  Or so that’s how the movies portray a cocktail party.  The reality is that a Mocktail Party can be anything you want it to be – themed, formal, informal or casual.

The main difference is that instead of serving alcoholic cocktails for the night, you swap them all our and serve a variety of Mocktail recipes.  Delicious specialty drinks that allows everyone to keep their keys, have fun and drive themselves home at the end of the night.

The bonus is that you wont have a raging headache the next morning!

I personally love a good themed party and these Vampire Kiss Mocktails would make for a great drink at a Halloween themed party!

Where Can I Buy Drink Syringes and Beakers?

If you like the way I’ve staged these drinks, then you’ll need a few props to make it happen.

First are glass beakers. Such a fun Prop!  Both kids and adults alike love drinking out of glass beakers!  They come in a 12 pack on Amazon and are dishwasher safe!

For the Syringes, I purchased 1 ounce syringes from amazon.  The best part is that they are dishwasher safe and can be used year after year.

Once you have these two items you’re ready to make your drinks!

Keep in mind that these are not required items for this recipe.  They are simply just props.  1 ounce of juice concentrate equals 2 Tablespoons of liquid.
