One of my favorite childhood snacks is cinnamon toast, and this drink is reminiscent of that treat! It’s like cinnamon toast milk! All the perks and soothing comfort of warm milk on a cold night, mixed with the unbeatable flavor of cinnamon.
And if you’re not quite sold on the idea of cinnamon milk, it gets better: this mix is made of shelf stable, dry ingredients, making it the perfect holiday gift or party favor! Mix up a batch and portion it out into festive jars for friends, family, or teachers and share the gift of delicious cinnamon milk powder.
What is cinnamon milk?
Cinnamon milk is a delicious blend of powdered milk, creamer, sugar, and cinnamon. It’s a warm and comforting beverage, great for cool nights or as a hot cocoa substitute. It’s soothing and flavorful and the perfect drink for fall and winter mornings or evenings.
The powder can be used as a drink all on its own or as an add-in for coffee, tea, or brewed cacao. Imagine the sweet and rich flavor of cinnamon milk tea or coffee! You can even froth it up for a latte.
What ingredients are in cinnamon milk?
One of the great things about this drink recipe is that it’s made in powder form — just like hot cocoa mix! Because it’s a powder and all you have to add is water, it makes for a fantastic holiday gift for friends, family, teachers, or just about anyone!
Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make this warm milk with cinnamon powder:
- Powdered milk – powdered milk makes this drink mix shelf stable and great for gifts!
- Powdered coffee creamer – coffee creamer adds richness, sweetness, and additional great flavor.
- Sugar – there’s something about cinnamon and sugar that is so incredibly delicious. It makes it almost like cinnamon toast crunch milk!
- Cinnamon – it wouldn’t be cinnamon milk without cinnamon! I’m certain you’ll love this delicious combination of cinnamon and milk.
- Optional ingredients – some of my favorite things to mix in with my milk powder when it’s hot and prepared are marshmallows and/or whipping cream. So yummy!
How to make cinnamon milk?
It’s incredibly easy to make this cinnamon milk drink mix! I prefer to use a blender when combining the ingredients to make sure they’re perfectly and evenly mixed together. Mixing it up is really as easy as 1-2-3!
- Measure and blend ingredients together in a blender.
- Store mixture in an airtight container.
- Mix with hot water when ready to serve!
Can you believe that’s all it takes to make and serve this warm cinnamon drink?! And you can portion single or multiple servings into jars as quick, easy, and delicious gifts.
What are the benefits of cinnamon and milk?
Many people believe a glass of warm milk can help if you’re having trouble sleeping. It’s comforting, warm, and relaxing — the perfect combination for soothing on a restless night.
There are also many benefits to cinnamon, including helping with digestion and being full of antioxidants.
Does warm milk and cinnamon help you sleep?
As mentioned above, people have often turned to a warm glass of milk when sleeping troubles arise. Warm milk and cinnamon is an additional level of delicious comfort in a glass!
I will mention, however, that this recipe does contain some added sugar, so you’ll probably want to indulge in the relaxing comfort BEFORE you brush your teeth.
Does cinnamon and milk help you get pregnant?
There is some evidence that cinnamon can help boost fertility, though I’m not sure the quantity in this drink is enough to make a difference. Milk is also rich in calcium and other nutrients that are great for preparing for conception.
All that being said, I don’t think I can claim that this drink will be helpful if you’re trying to get pregnant. Talk to your doctor before taking additional supplements or if you have questions about pregnancy or conception!
Does cinnamon dissolve in milk?
Regardless of how hot the liquid is, or how long you stir it, cinnamon will not dissolve. Cinnamon is actually the ground bark from cinnamon trees. It doesn’t dissolve, but you can get it nice and evenly distributed so each sip is full of cinnamon deliciousness.
Can cats have cinnamon milk?
While cinnamon isn’t considered poisonous for your feline friend, I wouldn’t recommend sharing this drink with them. There’s a significant amount of added sugar, which isn’t good for furry pets.
Does cinnamon affect breast milk?
There is some evidence to suggest that cinnamon can help increase breast milk production. Some people turn to cinnamon or fenugreek supplements in an attempt to naturally boost milk supply. Both can cause a drop in blood sugar, however, so it’s best to consult your doctor before beginning any new supplement.
Some people have found that when the mother eats a lot of cinnamon it can bother their breastfed babies, though it’s difficult to track what foods a mother eats that the baby is sensitive to when breastfed.
