What Ingredients Are in Cheez Whiz Chicken and Rice Casserole?

This cheesy chicken broccoli rice casserole is a popular recipe perfect for any busy weeknight!

Here’s the ingredients you’ll need from the grocery store.

  • Minute Rice: Quick and easy!
  • Cream of Mushroom Soup: You can swap with cream of chicken soup if you want.
  • Cheez Whiz: Smooth. Delicious. Perfect.
  • Milk: Thins out the cheese.
  • Dried Minced Onion: Just a bit. Adjust the amount if you used onion powder.
  • Rotisserie Chicken: My favorite time saver!
  • Frozen Broccoli: No need to pre-cook, just throw it in. Just make sure it’s small pieces.
  • Sharp Cheddar Cheese: Double the cheese!

Pro Tips:

  • Full-fat milk is my fav but you can pick your own.
  • Chicken broth can also thin out the cheese if you want.
  • White rice, brown rice and wild rice all take different amounts of water and cook differently than instant rice.
  • You could cook up some chicken breasts if you don’t have a fresh chicken.
