There are only TWO ingredients in this milky way hot chocolate. No hot chocolate powder here! You’re going to love how quick this is without using instant powder.
- Milky Way Candy Bars: Use the miniature ones! They melt faster and you can get to drinking quicker.
- Milk: I like using whole milk but any percentage or alternative milks will work.

- The toppings are not included in the hot chocolate ingredients but can really add a boost to your caramel hot chocolate. Simply add marshmallows, whipped cream or even a caramel drizzle.

You can definitely make this candy bar hot chocolate ahead of time!! I’m a huge fan of make ahead everything so if it can be, I’ve done it!
Make this the night before you need it. Allow it to cool completely and then put it in your storage container and cover. Keep it in the fridge for up to 2 days before serving.
Then reheat it on the stove or in the microwave until hot and steamy.
If you’re making it just a few hours ahead of time, another easy option is to toss it into a crock pot.

Milky Way Candy Bars are not gluten free. They’re made with malted barley which is a known gluten food.

Milky Way Hot Chocolate
Milky Way Hot Chocolate is such a fun way to use up those miniature candy bars! Creamy, hot, chocolate and caramel, you’ll love the flavor!
Ingredients
- 10 MILKY WAY® Miniature candy bars
- 1 cup milk (I prefer whole milk for my hot chocolate, however any percent or alternative milk would work)
- Marshmallows (optional)
- Whipped Cream (optional)
- Caramel Sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Open candy bars and place in a sauce pan.
- Turn burner on to medium low heat . Allow chocolate and candy to melt slowly into a melted glob. Do NOT rush this. If you turn the heat to high you'll burn the chocolate. This should take approximately 5 minutes. Stir regularly to ensure it melts evenly.
- Once chocolate is melted, slowly whisk in 1 cup of milk. Bring mixture to a boil.
- Remove from heat and pour into a mug immediately.
- Add marshmallows, whipped cream or caramel to your hot chocolate.
