Is Avocado and Cilantro Dip Vegan?

Avocado corn dip is totally vegan!

So that’s a big win if you’re on a strict diet!

It uses plant-based ingredients like avocados, vegetables, and olive oil.

But don’t serve it with sour cream or Greek yogurt if you need it to stay vegan.

You can do bean dip instead. A couple of dips on the table and some chips? So yummy!

How to Store Avocado and Cilantro Dip

Place the corn avocado dip in an airtight container.

Press plastic wrap onto the surface.

That’s super important! It’ll help stop the air from causing brown spots.

Then store it in the refrigerator.

If you need to bring it to a party, be sure to put it in a cooler with ice. That’ll help it stay good longer.

How to Prevent Avocados from Turning Brown

Add lemon juice or lime juice concentrate to the dip to help it from turning brown.

The acidity helps keep away the brown spots.

Also, covering the dip with plastic wrap touching the surface keeps air out.

Eventually of course, it’ll turn brown.

So just keep it in the fridge and covered as much as possible.

And don’t make it too far in advance.

Eventually it doesn’t matter what you do, it’ll turn brown.

Can You Freeze Avocado and Cilantro Dip?

I definitely don’t recommend you freeze this vegan avocado dip.

Freezing can change the creamy texture of avocados.

And it can even kind of change their flavor! Blah!

Fresh is always best when it comes to avocado dip.

How Long Does Avocado and Cilantro Dip Last?

Avocado corn salsa dip lasts about two days.

You’ll want to keep it in the refrigerator.

And of course always keep it in an airtight container.

Remember the plastic wrap trick!

And you should be good to much away!

So good!

Also, remember that just because it may turn brown, doesn’t mean it’s bad.

You can actually keep eating it even after it’s brown.

The color doesn’t mean it’s gone bad.

The If you see it getting mold, being slimy, or smelling bad? That’s when it should be tossed.

Does this Avocado dip turn brown after you leave it out for a while? Most of the Avocado things you make discolor. Can you help with this question

Great question Joan! The Lemon Juice in the recipe will help prevent the avocados from browning. I've been able to enjoy this for a few hours without any browning. However by the next day (in the fridge) there are starter signs of browning. I hope this helps!
