What Ingredients Are in Beef Ramen Soup?

Simple ingredients! I LOVE recipes like this. You really don’t even need to pick up a lot at your local grocery store.

Here’s the basics you’ll need to grab:

  • Ground Beef: Ahhh the protein. So filling and delicious.
  • V8 Juice: Forms the base and makes a rich broth.
  • Dry Onion Soup Mix: So easy to just toss in! But it really ups the flavor!
  • Beef Ramen Noodles: For that classic ramen texture and taste.
  • Frozen Mixed Vegetables: A- convenient. B- nutritious. Can’t go wrong with that!

Pro Tips:

  • Add some Worcestershire sauce or brown sugar for a little extra flavor if desired.
  • Use your favorite vegetables or type of noodles! Just keep the amounts the same.

How to Make Beef Ramen Soup?

This comforting meal is so easy to make and comes together in just a few steps:

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large saucepan or pot.
  2. Stir in V8 juice, onion soup mix, ramen seasoning, and frozen veggies.
  3. Simmer and let the flavors mix together.
  4. Add the ramen noodles and cook until tender.
  5. EAT! It’s SO good!

Pro Tip: For a spicy twist add a dash of hot sesame oil or chili oil. But be prepared for the spice!

Can I Use Fresh Vegetables in Beef Ramen Soup?

You can definitely add fresh vegetables into the soup!

Any vegetables that would usually have been in a frozen mix would go great.  So carrots, peppers, broccoli, onions, green beans are all good choices fresh.

If you’re looking for other fresh ingredients, try ginger, green onions, or even bok choy should all go really well with the other flavors.

Here are some ideas so you can use what you have on hand:

  • Ginger
  • Green Onions
  • Bok Choy
  • Shiitake Mushrooms
  • Minced Garlic Cloves
  • Bean Sprouts
  • Snap Peas
  • Broccoli
  • Carrots
  • Etc.

Just be sure to cut them so they will go well in the soup.

Can Beef Ramen Soup Be Made Ahead of Time?

Yes you can prepare most of this ramen noodle recipe ahead of time and have it ready to go when you need it.

You can do the entire recipe up to adding the noodles.

But add the noodles when you’re ready to serve so they don’t get too soft.

Fresh ramen noodles are always going to be the best way to go.

How to Serve Beef Ramen Soup?

Serve this beef ramen recipe hot! Or at least warm. I think it might be okay cold too but it wouldn’t be my favorite.

You can easily garnish  with fresh cilantro, lime wedges, or a sprinkle of sesame seeds for extra flair.

I prefer to serve it for dinner but it actually makes a great lunch too! Meal prep done!

How to Store Leftover Beef Ramen Soup?

Keep any leftover soup in an airtight container in the fridge

It’s best enjoyed within 3-4 days.

Just remember that the cooked noodles do tend to change texture over time.

So I prefer eating it within the first day or two. But it’ll stay good for up to those 4.

Can Beef Ramen Soup Be Frozen?

Yes you can totally freeze this beef noodle soup!

I highly recommend freezing the soup without the noodles though.

The noodles turn out very mushy once cooked, frozen, and then thawed. Bleh.

Instead just add the instant noodles when reheating the rest of it.

You can keep the soup in the freezer for up to three months.

This is a great way to meal prep! Just grab it out and add your ramen noodle packages when you’re ready to serve!

How to Reheat Beef Ramen Soup?

Warming the instant ramen soup on medium heat on the stove top is definitely my recommendation.

You could also use the microwave but just heat in short bursts and be careful not to nuke your noodles.

You can also add fresh noodles if desired.

What to Serve with Beef Ramen Soup?

A lot of Asian side dishes go really great with this soup.

A side of crispy spring rolls, a fresh salad, or some steamed rice for example.

Here are a few Cheap Side Dishes to get you started:

Is Beef Ramen Soup Healthy?

Beef Ramen soup is actually pretty healthy! Vegetables? Yep! Protein? Yep! Carbs? Yep!

It’s a pretty balanced hearty meal as far as I’m concerned.

But what people consider healthy varies so widely.

You can always add in more fresh vegetables or choose low-sodium options on your ramen if desired.

Is Beef Ramen Soup Gluten-Free?

So ramen noodles typically aren’t gluten free. At least not in the usual brands we purchase.

However, you can use gluten-free ramen noodles and still make it work I think.

Just be sure to check your other ingredients. Gluten could totally be hiding in the dry onion soup mix too.

Can I Use Other Noodles in Beef Ramen Soup?

You could absolutely use other noodles if you’re not a fan of ramen noodles!

Try using egg noodles or even rice noodles for a different twist.

However, you still want that same flavor profile as the ramen seasoning packet.

So, either toss out the noodles and still use the packet or find another seasoning that is similar in flavor.
