Sharing is caring!

Hungry for the best Easy Pizza Dough that is fast, delicious, and way cheaper than take out? Well look no further because this is what you have been dreaming of. This is the best pizza dough recipe you’ll find with perfect results every time!

This Easy Pizza Dough is perfect because it comes together quickly for busy weeknights. This easy pizza crust is actually pretty fun to make and did I mention that it is mouth watering good?

Pizza Crust Recipes can be intimidating with the rising time, unique ingredients, and complicated instructions but this one has NO long rising time, only 5 pantry ingredients, and simple, easy instructions. Plus it pairs perfectly with my Garlic Bread Hamburger Buns for a real at home pizza night.

How to Make Easy Pizza Dough?

  • Yeast: A little bit of yeast goes a long way in making sure this pizza dough puffs to perfection.
  • Sugar: Not only does the sugar help activate the yeast but a little bit of sweetener- Yum!
  • Salt: Almost no recipe is complete without this household staple.
  • Vegetable oil: A neutral taste to let your toppings shine.
  • Flour: All purpose, bread, or whole wheat. Use up what’s in that cupboard! Though if you are going to use whole wheat, I recommend checking out my whole wheat pizza crust recipe.
  • Toppings: Are you a pepperoni person? All the meats? Cheese or no cheese? Hawaiian? Green peppers and onions? The possibilities are endless and tasty no matter which way you’re leaning! Let your imagination run wild with your favorite pizza sauce and toppings! (Though my kids have drawn the line at adding broccoli to their pizza.)

Pro Tips:

  • Allow ample time for your oven to heat up. The high temperature is what gives pizza it’s signature outside crunch.
  • Get creative! Rolling a perfect circle can be difficult. Let your fun out! Who cares if it’s an oval and not a circle. Roll it. Use your fingers. Pretend to be a professional chef and try throwing it. Best yet, let your kids each have their own pizzas and make whatever shapes they can imagine. Picky eaters will be gone when they get to make it themselves!
  • Let it cool before you eat it! When this pizza is cooking, it is going to smell AMAZING! But if you burn your tongue on the first bite, your taste buds are not going to thank you! Let it cool 5-10 minutes so that first bite tastes just as amazing as it smells.

Can I Freeze Pizza Dough?

You can absolutely freeze this easy pizza dough recipe! Lightly coat the outside of the dough with oil, toss in a freezer safe bag with all the extra air squeezed out, and voila! It should last for up to three months.

How Do You Defrost Pizza Dough?

When you are ready to thaw your quick pizza dough, take it out of the freezer, let it sit overnight in your fridge, and then rest on your counter until soft and stretchable. That should take about 30 minutes. Make large batches of the recipe and you can have the fastest pizza night ready to go every week! I LOVE easy food prep!

How Do You Make Easy Pizza Dough?

I’m so glad you are asking how to make the best pizza dough recipe because the answer could not be more simple! Ahhh simplicity how I love you!

  • Mix all the ingredients. That shouldn’t be too hard!
  • Let the dough rest on your counter. Use this time to clean up your mess from step one or take a minute to prepare my Strawberry Spinach Salad. Salad and pizza? MMMM. Yeah, I’m that kind of girl.
  • Roll out the dough. Any way, any shape, any pan you want to use, it doesn’t really matter! It’s going to taste delicious anyway.
  • Bake! Golden crust and melty cheese! I might have to sneak away real quick to go make some pizza because this is making my mouth water!

How Do You Roll Out Pizza Dough?

I love that you can style this easy pizza dough however you like. I mean seriously, even your kids can get in on this fun! But if you are going for a more professional look, here’s some simple steps to help you out.

  • Room temperature! Cold pizza dough will not stretch! Don’t even try it.
  • Don’t add more flour. Adding flour to your work surface is going to make your dough dryer and tougher to work with. Opt instead for lightly coating your dough with oil.
  • Use your hands! No seriously! Flatten it with your palm. Hold it up and rotate it around to let gravity do the work. There’s a reason the professionals use their hands! It’s much easier than a rolling pin.
  • Roll it bigger than you want it. The pizza dough will shrink slightly when you stop working with it.
  • Style it. Move it to your baking stone, tray or whatever you are using. Fluff up your edges, pinch together any parts that look a little thin, and you’re ready for your toppings. It’s ok to not be perfect, most of the pizza is going to be covered anyway!

How Long Does Pizza Dough Last in the Fridge?

Want to make this quick pizza dough in advance? You absolutely can! Wrap it up tightly and it should stay good for up to a week. Any longer than that and you’ll want to keep it in the freezer instead. Don’t forget to let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before stretching!

How Do You Proof Yeast?

  • Use water between 105-115 degrees. Any colder and your yeast won’t activate. Any hotter and your yeast will be killed.
  • Mix in yeast and sugar. The sugar helps the yeast do it’s thing.
  • Let it sit until bubbly. Don’t skip this step. It must have enough time to bubble in order to make your dough rise. 5-10 minutes should do it.
  • Check your expiration date. If your yeast isn’t bubbling and you’ve followed the steps above, check your expiration date! It may be time to buy a new yeast.  If your yeast is old, just add a little extra and you should still get it to work!

Yeast Pro Tip:

Keep your yeast in the freezer.  It will last at least a year past it’s best by date (even if opened) if kept in the freezer and works just like fresh yeast every time!  No need to let it “thaw” when ready to use!
