Many years ago I had a friend turn me on to fudge.

It was her weakness.

She couldn’t walk past a candy shop without stopping to buy a piece of fudge.

Fudge for me, up to that point, wasn’t something I ever sought out.

Growing up, I don’t recall us eating a lot of fudge.

Generally only at Christmas and only when someone would gift it to us.

However since that friend, I’ve grown quite fond of it.

Like many of you, I’ve had good fudge and I’ve had bad fudge.

There is nothing worse than crumbly, almost chalk-like fudge that you have to choke down with a large glass of milk.

The good kind of fudge is the kind that literally melts in your mouth.

I love fudge that melts in my mouth, where the flavor lingers on my tongue and begs me to take just one more bite.

And generally, I listen to my taste buds and do take one more bite.

Over the years I’ve tried several different fudge recipes.  Most were complicated, required special tools and took FOREVER to make.

As tasty as they may have been, the effort to get that fudge wasn’t worth the time invested.

Last year, I made copious amounts of fudge in an effort to create a copy cat recipe to my favorite See’s Candies Fudge, I found a winner.

Not only did my See’s Copycat Fudge taste AH-MAZING, the recipe has adapted well to a variety of flavors.

And each flavor results in the creamiest and tastiest fudge I’ve ever made.

Every Christmas I like to bake up a storm (surprise, surprise) and take goody baskets to all my daughters teachers.

A basket of fresh baked goodies for their Christmas gift from my daughter.

One of her teachers had a gluten intolerance and required gluten free treats.

In an effort to include this teacher, we made everyone’s baskets gluten free and no one even realized it.

We offered each teacher a large brick of our chocolate fudge, pumpkin fudge, and this peppermint fudge.

As well as a few other homemade goodies that were gluten free as well.

The teachers all LOVED them.

This Peppermint Fudge was a favorite and is now on our yearly baking list!

This fudge takes only 15 minutes to make and is naturally gluten free making it the perfect treat to pass along to anyone on  your gift giving list!

If you are a fudge lover, what is your favorite flavor?

I'm a little confused. Your recipe for Peppermint Fudge does not list chocolate in the ingredients but does in the instructions. Please explain. Thank you.

Hi Robyn! The 1 cup Andes Peppermint Crunch Baking Chips are a form of chocolate chips sold around Christmas time. I've found mine at Walmart. It's like broken up pieces of andes mints but in peppermint flavor. I'll adjust the wording to indicate that. Thanks for pointing this out!
