My husband has been teasing me that I should do a Twinkie post at some point for the website.

I love Twinkies and was one of the few people who were crushed to hear they were disappearing years ago.

Twinkies are one of the treats that I have fond memories of as a child.

We loved putting them in the freezer and eating them frozen.

It became one of my favorite go to treats instead of ice cream.

When Twinkies disappeared from the shelves, I was one of those people who stocked up.

I even put a Twinkie in each person’s stocking that year at Christmas since it was a treat you could no longer get in the stores.

If you don’t think that’s crazy enough, would you be surprised that I have a Twinkie Cookbook?

Not a how to make Twinkies cookbook, but a how to cook WITH Twinkies!

Crazy right?!

As you all know, Twinkies didn’t disappear for long.

They soon came back to store shelves (though tasting a slightly different) and back to my pantry.

Now days if you go to the store to buy Twinkies, there are so many varieties it’s incredible.

There are different flavors and fillings and choices that never existed during my childhood.

Because I love Twinkies, this post for Twinkie Hearts with Raspberry Puree was a must for the website!

So when my husband made the suggestion I do a Twinkie based post on more than one occasion, I knew it had to be for Valentine’s Day.

This post is dedicated to all my culinary handicapped friends.

It’s OK.

They were AMAZING.

However, it was the raspberry puree that knocked these out of the park.

Ah-mazing.
