Sledding in Central Minnesota

If you’ve ever tried to find information on sledding hills in the Central Minnesota Area, you’ll be sorely disappointed.

If you search hard enough you’ll find where the hills are, however finding a photo of the hills is pretty difficult.

Finding actual helpful information in even harder.  Here are some of the questions we’ve asked on our hunt for good sledding hills.

Is there a restroom offered at the sledding hill?  Does it offer a flush toilet or a Porta Potty?

Is the hill steep or shallow?  Is it appropriate for small children or older children?

Can you ski down the hills, snowboard down the hills or is it tubing only?

What is the best way to get up the hill?  In the path of the oncoming sledders or is there a designated path up the hill?

There are so many questions that I myself have asked over the years to best prepare me for sledding with my children.

Typically we’ve gone to the hill closest to our home and called it good.

This year though, we are determined to check out all the sledding hill in the area to show you just what you’ll find as well as any tips and tricks we’ve learned along the way!

Sledding is one of our FAVORITE winter activities, and luckily my children are at the perfect age for it.  Ages 1, 5 & 8, my children have felt safe, comfortable and loved all the hills we’ve photographed already.

We’re just waiting on a new batch of snow and a fairly decent temperature to hit the hills again and take more photos.

However in the mean time, we didn’t want to keep you waiting and are bringing the hills we’ve photographed already to you!

If you have any additional tips or tricks, please leave a comment letting us know!

Calvary Park

Address: 1800 17th Avenue South, St. Cloud, MN 56301

Bathroom: This park offers a porta potty for bathrooms – located in the parking lot.

Walking Path: To get to the top, you can climb up on side mounds OR in the sledding path. I do not recommend climbing up the sledding path as you may get knocked down. There is also a side path available which takes longer to get to the top.

Disc Golf: Disc Golf is offered year round. Because of this you’ll see players walking all around.
