One of our all time favorite treats is chocolate covered Puffcorn.

My kids go nuts for it! So as you can only expect, this Christmas Puffcorn is a big hit in our house!

We’d never had chocolate puffcorn until a year or two ago when someone brought it to a party and we all tried it.

My husband was convinced I needed to “learn” how to make it because it was just so good.

Now let me stop the story right here for a moment, and remind you that my husband, does not care for sweets like the average person.

And chocolate is no where near his top ten list.

In fact, when he was in high school he used to tell people he was allergic to chocolate just so people would stop nagging him about why he didn’t like it.

So when he insisted I make this CHOCOLATE covered puffcorn at home because it was so good….well, you know it must have been dang good.

And so I did.  It’s really one of the easiest treats you can make and if you are anything like our family, it doesn’t last long once it’s made.

However, we don’t only enjoy eating it, we enjoy giving it as gifts too!

We …wait.  I better rephrase that.  I.. yep, I like to fill a cute jar with it or a pretty bags of it and pass them out to friends and neighbors as gifts.

I also like to pass it along to school teachers and support staff as a quick and easy Thank you for all their hard work!

Just in case you need a few more suggestions of people who would devour this puffcorn, how about your mail man or garbage man, paper delivery person or even your hair stylist.

Plus in all reality it’s really not expensive to make and much less time consuming than cookies.

Another fun thing that we like to do with our kids every Christmas is to pick a family to preform the 12 Days of Christmas for.

We wrap up treats and small gifts and over the course of 12 days we deliver them to a family by dropping the gifts off on the door step, ringing the door bell and running away!

A friendly way of playing ding dong ditch that warms the hearts of everyone involved.

Christmas is one of our favorite seasons, not because of the 10 pounds we all put on, but because we find so much join in doing things for others.

And making treats for teachers, the mail man and anyone else who might have had a positive impact on our lives over the past year brings us so much happiness and joy.

Often times I find that teaching my children true kindess and true charity is one of the hardest lessons that can be taught.

We not only need to verbally teach our kids but show them too.

Sharing this Christmas Puffcorn is a perfect and simple way to brighten someones day, or a welcome treat to a Christmas Potluck!

If you love chocolate and you love popcorn, then give this Christmas Puffcorn a try!  I dare say you’ll be as addicted to it as we are!

I love cinnamon popcorn. I wonder how this recipe would be with cinnamon extract added.
