Slow Cooker Sweet Chile Hot Wings

Slow Cooker Sweet Chile Hot Wings

I’ve already expressed how much I loathe making my house any hotter than it already is in the afternoon.

So, we use our crock pot a lot!

We’ve had these wings a couple times already this summer and will be using them for sure again. My kids like chicken wings and have always called them chicken bones, until recently they pretend they’re eating dinosaur bones. I’m not even sure why. They’re funny kids.

Another really great thing about crock pot recipes like this one is that it makes enough that for my little family we have dinner for the next night too.

Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 pounds chicken wingettes
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup sweet chile sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

Instructions

Spray large slow cooker with cooking spray.
Place wings in slow cooker.
Whisk the rest of the ingredients in a small bowl and pour over the wings.
Cover and cook on high until the wings are tender, about 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
Preheat broiler.
Using tongs, place wings on 2 foil lined baking sheets. Broil each sheet, turning once, until crispy about 5-7 minutes.

Notes

While the wings get crispy in the broiler, if it's super hot you can skip the whole broiler part so that your kitchen doesn't feel like an oven. They still taste amazing without it!
