What is Bruschetta

Bruschetta is a classic Italian appetizer consisting of grilled bread that’s typically rubbed with garlic and topped with fresh tomatoes, basil, olive oil, and salt.

That’s how you make the traditional tomato bruschetta but there are other options too!

It’s a versatile dish that can be customized with various toppings, such as this delightful Strawberry Spinach Bruschetta.

You could also try Strawberry Basil Bruschetta by swapping spinach with fresh basil! Another popular option that tastes great.

What Ingredients are in Strawberry Spinach Bruschetta

Fresh strawberries? Check! Eat the entire thing in one bite? I’ll let you decide!

This simple recipe will need the following ingredients from the grocery store:

  • Baby spinach leaves or basil: adds a fresh, green touch
  • Juicy strawberries: provide a sweet, juicy flavor
  • French loaf: serves as the crispy base
  • Greek yogurt: adds creaminess and tang
  • Almond slivers: provide a bit of crunch
  • Balsamic vinegar: adds a touch of acidity

Pro Tips:

  • You can normally find a French bread baguette at any grocery store or specialty shop.
  • Serve the strawberries cold or at room temperature.

How to Make Strawberry Spinach Bruschetta

The sweetness of the strawberries in this recipe means the right place to share it is at baby showers, parties, or your own light dinner!

Here’s how to make this strawberry bruschetta recipe in 2-3 minutes! (Seriously!)

  1. Toast the French bread slices
  2. Spread Greek yogurt on the toasted bread
  3. Layer spinach, strawberries, and almonds on top
  4. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar
  5. Serve and enjoy immediately

How to Make a Balsamic Vinegar Reduction

To make a balsamic reduction, simply simmer balsamic vinegar in a small saucepan over medium-low heat until it thickens and reduces in volume.

The resulting syrupy consistency should be similar to molasses.

Drizzle this reduction over the Strawberry Spinach Crostini for an extra burst of flavor.

Though you can also drizzle regular balsamic vinegar on the top too and enjoy that as well!

What to Serve with Strawberry Spinach Bruschetta

Strawberry Balsamic Bruschetta makes a great appetizer on its own!

But you can also serve it alongside other finger foods, such as a Wreath Charcuterie Board, Bacon Wrapped Little Smokies, or Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus.

A Easy Pasta Salad or a Non Alcoholic Mimosa also complement the flavors beautifully.

When to Serve Strawberry Spinach Bruschetta

This refreshing appetizer is a perfect summer appetizer for picnics, barbecues, or an outdoor dinner party.

It’s a delightful, light, easy finger foods option that guests will adore.

Here’s my list of good times to serve these. But you can always think of your own ideas too:

  • Game Day
  • Picnic
  • Barbecue
  • Dinner Appetizer
  • Baby Shower
  • Family Party
  • After School Snack

And honestly, I’ve made these before just for myself! Late night snacking? Guilty!

But when I’m eating these then I feel pretty good about it!

Can You Freeze Strawberry Spinach Bruschetta

It’s not recommended to freeze Fruit Bruschetta, as the texture of the ingredients would be compromised once thawed.

From the spinach to the bread to the strawberries, it all becomes wilted and soft.

Especially after you’ve drizzled on the balsamic glaze!

It’s definitely best to enjoy this dish fresh.

If you want to make it ahead of time, I recommend just getting everything ready, but separate.

You can do this up to 24 hours before you want to serve it.

Then when you’re ready to serve, put it all together.

This way it’ll still be fresh but it might save you a little time when you’re ready to serve it.

Can Dogs Eat Strawberry Spinach Bruschetta

While strawberries and spinach are safe for dogs to consume in small quantities, it’s best to avoid sharing this appetizer with your furry friend.

The balsamic vinegar, garlic, and other ingredients may not be suitable for dogs and could cause digestive upset.

They could even be harmful for your pup! Be sure to only feed them foods that are designed just for them.

Is Strawberry Spinach Bruschetta Healthy?

Oh most definitely! Healthy carbs, fresh fruit and veggies, etc.

Every diet is subjective, and you should take your own dietary needs into account.

But in my book, this is a very healthy snack or appetizer that I feel good about eating and sharing.

I served this at my book club tonight, along with your caprese bites and smores cookies. They were all delicious, but this appetizer is a new favorite!

Thank you so much Beth! I have to confess we've had the Bruschetta THREE times this week. We just can't get enough of it. We went strawberry picking and it was the first item on my list to make! I'm so glad you liked it as much as we did! And what an honor for you to make THREE items from our website! Thank you!!
