Move aside regular burgers- stuffed hamburgers are all the rage!

I’m always looking for ways to use up the leftover Thanksgiving food, like this Turkey, Broccoli, and Stuffing Casserole, or Bacon Wrapped Stuffing Bombs.

There’s really no wrong way to eat stuffing. At least that’s what my husband says!

Well now you can enjoy stuffing wrapped in hamburger meat, smothered in a mouthwatering gravy, and bursting with juicy goodness.

You’ll love how easy these stuffed burgers are to make. They don’t require much work at all but take your burgers to the next level.

And making burgers with stuffing mix also means you can enjoy stuffing burgers all year round!

Plus a stuffed burger is super filling! When topped on a pile of creamy mashed potatoes, they’ll keep you full all night long!

What is a Stuffing Stuffed Burger?

Stuffed burgers are very popular- and for good reason! They take a regular hamburger and stuff it full of yummy goodness.

At a restaurant you might find cheese stuffed burgers, bacon stuffed burgers, jalapeno stuffed burgers, etc.

They can be stuffed with cheddar cheese, blue cheese, red onion, cream cheese, bbq sauce, red bell peppers, or crispy bacon.

You name it, someone has probably tried to put it in the middle of a burger.

Then they’ll often be topped with favorite toppings like a slice of tomato, caramelized onions, burger sauce, or even pizza toppings!

Stuffing stuffed burgers are burgers filled with stuffing- the same thing you eat for Thanksgiving dinner!

This makes them hearty and filling and delicious and frankly- some of the best burgers I’ve ever had!

What Ingredients are in Stuffing Stuffed Burgers?

This juicy burger is made with ground meat and stove top stuffing mix!

  • Ground Beef: You’ll need uncooked ground beef to be able to wrap around the stuffing.
  • Salt: For flavoring!
  • Evaporated Milk: You’ll use this for both moistening the hamburgers and to create the rich gravy as well.
  • Ritz Crackers: Crush crackers so they will mix in well with the hamburger meat.
  • Stuffing: Stove Top Stuffing is used most often around here. Any flavor will work!
  • Cream of Mushroom Soup: To give your gravy a yummy base. Can also swap with Cream of Chicken Soup.
  • Cream of Onion Soup: I’ve tried this recipe with and without the onion soup and it’s much better with! So don’t skip it!
  • Worcestershire Sauce and Ketchup: Just a little bit but really add depth of flavor to the gravy.

Pro Tips:

  • Use ground turkey to make turkey burgers if you’re craving that Thanksgiving taste.
  • Ground chicken can also be used but the internal temperature of chicken or turkey needs to be 165.

How to Make a Stuffing Stuffed Burger

Ground beef patties never tasted so good as when made with stuffing ingredients and doused in gravy.

For the full printable recipe card, see below. Here’s the basics of how you’re going to make this classic burger.

  1. Cook Stuffing: If you don’t already have stuffing, be sure to cook it up first according to package directions.
  2. Make Burgers: Not just stuffed but seasoned too with salt, evaporated milk, and crackers.
  3. Stuff Burgers: Be careful not to overfill the patties. You want to be able to press the sides together.
  4. Make Gravy: I like to mix all the gravy ingredients in the same large bowl that I had the meat in. One less dish!
  5. Bake: In your casserole dish, bake the burgers slathered in gravy!

Pro Tips:

  • Don’t forget to grease the casserole dish with cooking spray.
  • Shape mixture around the stuffing to be sure all the stuffing stays in the middle of the hamburger patties.
  • These will make larger burgers than regular thin patties. For young kids you’ll probably need to cut the hamburger patty in half.

How Long to Cook a Stuffed Burger

Once you heat oven to 350, it should take 45 minutes to bake the stuffed burgers to completion.

Don’t forget to cover the baking dish to keep it from burning. You can use aluminum foil for this.

The meat should no longer be pink, and should reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees F.

The gravy is craving something to be mixed with and soak up! And if you’ve got leftover mashed potatoes from the holidays, all the better!

Can I Use Leftover Stuffing for These Burgers?

Definitely! And I recommend it for a delicious burger!

Any time I can repurpose leftovers (so my family stops complaining about eating the same thing again) is a good thing!

You can use any flavor of stuffing. You can use homemade or store bought.

There is no limit on what kind of stuffing you can use for this gourmet burger meal.

How to Store Leftover Stuffing Stuffed Burgers

Any leftover stove top stuffing burgers should be transferred to an airtight container.

Let them come to room temperature first and then store for up to 5 days.

You can also freeze them by tossing them in a freezer safe bag or container.

They will stay good in the freezer for up to 3 months.

How to Reheat Stuffing Stuffed Burgers

Stuffed burgers can be reheated in the oven or the microwave.

Use a microwave safe dish and reheat one burger with gravy at a time.

If you’re reheating a larger batch of stuffing burgers, turn the oven on to 350 and reheat until heated through.
