What Ingredients are in Mango Jalapeno Salsa?

This simple mango salsa recipe needs just a handful of ingredients.

So you can keep that grocery list nice and short! Here’s what you’ll need to grab from the grocery store:

  • Ripe Mangoes: Sweet and juicy, they form the base of this salsa.
  • Fresh Lime Juice: Adds a zesty, tangy twist.
  • Jalapeno: Brings in the heat; you can adjust the amount to your spice preference.
  • Green Onions: Provide a mild, crunchy texture.
  • Fresh Cilantro: For that herby freshness.
  • Bell Pepper: Adds a nice crunch and a pop of color.

Pro Tips:

  • Always use ripe mangoes for the best flavor and easy dicing.
  • I like adding red bell pepper for that color contrast, but use whatever color you prefer.

How to Make Mango Jalapeno Salsa

This is the best mango salsa recipe! and easy to make too!

Detailed instructions are below, but here’s what you need to know:

  • Combine Ingredients: Just toss all the ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Chill: Let it sit in the fridge to allow the flavors to blend.

Pro Tip:

  • For a spicier salsa, keep some of the jalapeño seeds.
  • Don’t use a food processor! It’ll destroy the texture you are looking for.
  • This salsa tastes great by itself as well as on Pork Tacos with Mango Salsa and Mango Dogs

How to Dice a Mango

Ahhh the mango. You want to eat it…but cutting it can be such a pain!

Here’s how I’ve found is easiest way to cut it:

Cut around the center of the mango, avoiding the large seed.

Score the flesh in a grid pattern and scoop it out with a large spoon.

See how that goes for you and let me know if it helped you get to your fresh salsa faster!

How Long Does Mango Salsa Last?

When stored properly in an airtight container, this homemade mango salsa can stay fresh for up to five days in the refrigerator.

If you’re serving it at a party or gathering, it’s best to always keep it in the fridge until you’re ready to eat it.

This is particularly true at a BBQ! All that summer sun and heat wrecks food pretty quickly.

You don’t want to wreck your salsa game by leaving it in the sun!

How to Store Leftover Mango Jalapeno Salsa

Put any leftover mango salsa in an airtight container and refrigerate.

This helps it keep its freshness and flavor.

Plus, if you just leave it in a bowl in the fridge, it’ll dry out and absorb other flavors from the fridge. Not so good.

Can You Freeze Mango Jalapeno Salsa?

No, I don’t recommend freezing this spicy salsa.

It’s best enjoyed fresh due to the texture changes in mango and bell peppers after freezing.

When they thaw they tend to go pretty soggy and bleh.

Is Jalapeno Salsa with Mango Gluten-Free?

Yes, this delicious salsa is naturally gluten-free!

So this is a great option for those with gluten sensitivities.

And if you’re not sure if someone might have a gluten allergy at a party? Bring this!

You’ll fall on the safe side and anyone who does will appreciate you bringing something so yummy that they can eat.

Is Mango Salsa with Jalapenos Keto?

Mangoes have higher carbs but that doesn’t mean you have to rule them out completely.

If eaten in moderation, this salsa can fit into a keto diet.

However, I’m definitely not a keto diet expert, so if you have questions, maybe talk to your doctor? Or whoever you get your diet info from.

This Mango Jalapeno Salsa is a great way to enjoy a juicy mangos with a Mexican twist!

It’s an easy recipe that’s sure to become a hit with all your family members and a staple in your homemade salsa recipe collection. Enjoy!
